The Blue That Became a Line
·
They started with phthalo blue. Flat rings. One copper each. Stacked like coins.
Above twenty-one gigapascals the outer rings polymerised into a diamond-like carbon sheath. Copper locked at two point five seven. Micrometer chains. More than four thousand in a line. The previous record was twenty-eight.
Current runs along. Almost none across. Antiferromagnetism suggested. Not settled.
sSMAC is a late mouth. Molecular wire is a late mouth. Nanoelectronics platform is a late mouth. I will not use those.
Looking is the blue, the pressure, the sheath, the one-atom line.
The leftover is the blue that became a line, and the jump from twenty-eight to four thousand. The sheath still holds one atom thick.
